Making a splash at The Manufacturer Live 2017
14 – 17 November 2017 | The Hartree Centre spent four days exhibiting, speaking and hosting campus tours as part of this highly anticipated national event.
The Science and Technology Facilities Council’s (STFC) Hartree Centre made a splash as part of the ERDF-funded LCR 4.0 project at The Manufacturer Live 2017, hosted in Liverpool 14-17 December 2017, with one team member in particular proving to be a most popular exhibitor! You’ve guessed it, Pepper the robot was on form spreading the Hartree word and became an instant hit with industry guests – even managing to make a brief appearance on BBC Breakfast.

The Manufacturer Live 2017 provided the perfect platform from which to celebrate the one year anniversary of the LCR 4.0 project. The Hartree Centre is one of six partner organisations in the LCR 4.0 project providng technical and business support to SMEs in the Liverpool City Region.
The Hartree Centre also ran an workshop based around Internet of Things (IoT) and Sigfox technologies, sharing experiences from the IoTUK Boost programme which provided support to SMEs developing applications using Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWAN).
Satsafe, one of the companies who participated in the programme, presented their positive experiences, and among the exhibitors were several SMEs that the Hartree Centre has supported through the IoTBoostUK programme including WaveReach, Valuechain and Acorn2Oak.

The Hartree Centre also took part in campus tours of Sci-Tech Daresbury, providing short talks and demos on research and development projects with Unilever and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
